California Dreams Backpackers Hostel was opened in 2017 with the goal of giving those traveling through San Diego an opportunity to meet and connect with their fellow travelers. We worked very hard to see our dream of opening the hostel come to life and we strive every day to create the best experience possible for our guests. California Dreams hopes to show San Diego what a real, international hostel experience is truly like. We are an independent hostel and believe in supporting our local communities which we have grown to love throughout this journey.

Our hostel is located on the beautiful California coast, in America’s finest city of San Diego, 2-minute walk from public transportation and supermarkets. We are positioned within a 10-minute drive from San Diego Airport, Downtown and the city’s main attractions. You will be staying in Ocean Beach, San Diego’s most laid-back neighborhood. It is a perfect spot to chill with friends on your visit to sunny Southern California. With plenty of bars, restaurants and nightclubs, Ocean Beach is an ideal place for those who love the beach, outdoor & water activities, good food, and making new friends.
